Met up with a french dude, Benoit last night - he is touring the south island fly fishing. I offered him a room and in return he drove when we went exploring up the Makarora today. Such a hot day, not much in the way of fush activity at this end, but we will check out Dean's Bank tonight, hope for a hatch.
Met up with a local ledgend, Carl McNeil for a drink in the afternoon, he gave us a few helpful tips on the local hotspots.
